Hej,

I have some problems with Drupal. Indeed, the ESN Kalmar always ask for a Drupal Uptade, but I have no clue how to do it.. I have downloaded, read a lot of stuff but still don't know how to do it... Maybe you can help me resolving this problem! Thank you in advance.

well... that's what is in that guide..

  1. Backup DB and Files
    1. open phpMyAdmin and download full database copy.. or get it by using Backup and Migrate module
    2. download all files from website root folder using your favourite FTP client
  2. delete everything but /sites folder and possible custom files in that website root folder (watch out for other systems you might be running there)
  3. upload content of satellite install file
  4. open yoursite.tld/update.php file by your internet browser

where exactly did you get lost? we'll have a closer look at that ;)

I mean, the guy before me has no clue as well regarding this update and don't know how to save the data, and install it again.

So if you could give me some tips, or steps to deal with it, it could be great !

Hello there Eloi,

there is a guide here on helpcenter briefly describing the procedure.. basically you need to:

  • perform a full backup of both files and your database
  • than delete everything except your custom/modified files and the /sites folder
  • and upload new content from install file.
  • than you just visit yoursite.tld/update.php

Please do not underestimate the backup.. it is possible something might go wrong..

if you have any specific issue or question, go ahead.. "I don't know how to do it" is a bit vague.. tell us what's not clear..
