New versions of drupal modules are released whenever they are released. The IT committee will make sure all the security releases are part of the next Satellite version and such a new Satellite version will be released a few days after a security release of Drupal. If you don't want to wait for the next Satellite version you can update the modules yourself, make sure that it works on a test site first though.
The problem is that you don’t have any ‘future’ events or promoted content
There are two ways in order content to be promoted in the Spotlight:
- Either is an event, which has a Start Date today or in the future
- Either is a NON event content (such as news, for example), which is promoted to the frontage and has a Spotlight image
So, either create newer events, update the dates of the events you have, or create a News and promote it to the frontage.
