This is so far unsorted notes for ESNlive v2, in case you have ANY suggestions, please let us know at [email protected] and let's make this tutorial better!

  1. Go to Youtube and set up a channel. Beforehand decide which google account to use, so all the videos of the country can be saved in the same channel for example.
  2. Create a stream. In the stream make it sure to set it up as unlisted, so this way it can't be found via Youtube's function.
    • You have two options to create a stream.
    • The first one is by scheduling an event, which would be ideal with a further explanation.
    • The second one is just by clicking here, https://www.youtube.com/live_dashboard and then Stream now
  3. Use the provided stream id and password and put them to OBS. OBS provides you a way to create the stream directly providing a youtube account, but doing so , means that if the streams gets cut, it will start a new video. using a streamid or URL/pass makes it stream to the same video.
COMMENT: If you copy&paste the URL of the sharing options provided by Youtube, it might look something like this: https://youtu.be/VIDEO_ID. Be aware that the plugin installed in our system do not recognize that pattern. To solve it, just navigate to the shared URL and copy the URL with the form: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIDEO_ID
  4. If you did it well, you should be able to see the stream in Youtube live
  5. Then, to show the video in ESNlive, just copy the URL of the video so it will be embedded in the website.
  6. If you want to test it, I'd reccomend you to just try a simple YoutubeLive. If you can see it there, you will see it in ESNlive 100% sure
  7. There are tutorials in Youtube (just google), on how to do the OBS setup
  8. Also BIG COMMENT: Youtube detects copyrighted songs when the stream has finished. So, make sure to have the microphone off in case someone plays any known song or radio song. Otherwise, it's easy the audio of the video may disappear suddenly after the stream is ended (so the recording of the video will have no sound..., which is bad)

Also, use now a personal account as G Suite accounts do not allow to share videos outside unless you have a AdWords account tied to it (which takes some time). You can always download the videos and upload them again later on
